It was a beautiful day for a game of rugby and a lot of our new boys were given the opportunity to put into practice what they'd been learning in training.
Unfortunately, Orrell were strong in their pursuit of a try and had the visitors pinned to their try line for much of the first half. The boys went into the team talk 4-0 down. The second half was an improvement with a touch of flare from Mikey who received the kick off and pushed the ball back into the opposition. Chasing his own kick down - more football than rugby (but they all count!) - he went on to score the only Oilers try of the game. Spacing on the pitch and handling were what cost the team today. Orrell moved well at pace and were able to capitalise on overlaps produced by bunched Oilers players at the rucks.
Man of the Match was Rishi.
