A Loss on the pitch but a morale victory.

So a somewhat controversial start to our away games this season, with the referee laying down the law in what seemed to some to be an extreme bias toward his team. As our eager lads were calling foul he deemed the decision to go to his players on more than one occasion yet felt the need to let his own team talk back to him, causing our lads have their heads down from the off!

The mighty Oilers came well mob handed with a 14 man team, a real credit to them selves as the home team only managed to scrape together a measly 8. As good sportsmanship shown by our coaches we allowed the game to carry on with just 8 players aside, to our detriment as to keep the players warm players were substituted far more often than usual.

After a strong start from Wilmslow scoring 2 tries in quick succession, Mikey shot down the wing and kept us in the game.
But the first half our captain was able to perform his superb drop kick starts a little to often as Wilmslow were consistently racking up the score sheet.

The second half was an absolute master class by our defensive line including some of the hardest hitting tackles coming from our MOM Max M, fantastic. And Mikey and Josh A also making the score sheet.

Following a Wilmslow injury and the incoming poor weather the game was called and with hindsight we are now glad to draw a line under that one.

Congratulations to Wilmslow, but our boys can certainly hold their heads up high after this one. And a big thanks to Dave and Graham for keeping the boys heads in the right place through out the game.

We take this as a lesson and come back stronger and wiser for next time.

Thank you to Ben for todays report.
